I know there's supposedly no such thing as a stupid question, but this might be the exception. But, since we're all in the Happy Chambers Family, I know you'll all forgive my ignorance. So, tell me what is the difference between a tag sale and a garage sale?

Do the lids have handles on the top? That's how I lift mine out, with a kind of alternate down pressure on the clips to keep it closed.

If no bracket/handles on top maybe you can solder something...I only have used one at a time anyway...you know ...oatmeal...V

The lids have handles but no clips on the side to anchor them closed. There is a bracket on the outside (curved side) and my husband is working on something. I'll keep you posted

In Dallas, estate sales sound the same as tag sales. A true estate sale here is held in the original owners home, sometimes by professionals, or sometimes by the children/heirs. Sometimes the original owners are still alive, but giving up most of their belongings to move to their retirement home. This is where you find the true deals, and also learn alot about lifestyles over the past 50 years or so. However, it has become fasionable to have 'estate sales' so sometimes they are really garage sales & moving sales - a different thing altogether.

We have tag sales, estate sales,and garage sales here in western NY. The estate sales and tag sales can get you some good deals. However, they are quite popular and you can stand on line for hours to get into a house.
Sadly, I find that for the most part the only difference between a garage sale and garbage is the letter b. Some people try to sell stuff I would be embarassed to throw away!
However, that being said, I cannot believe the finds my sister-in-law finds. She has lived in Florida and is now in North Carolina so I think she is just really good at finding the good deals.Me? not so lucky.(except for my triple pots!!!! had to get that one in here somehow)

I asked the same question about tag sales when I was talking to Treatmaker because I also thought they must be garage/lawn sales. At least on Long Island, where she lives, they're not the same.

At a Long Island tag sale, someone, usually a professional, comes in and runs the sale of the contents of an entire household, usually for the heirs of a person who has passed away. They are run inside the original house. (Maybe some estate sales run this way, but where I live, the stuff in estate sales is moved off site to be sold.)

The tag sale system seems a lot different from a lawn/garage sale, where the items for sale are castoffs (junk) the seller no longer wants.

Thanks for asking the question I could not bring myself to. That said, my sister in law as a side business runs a lot of estate sales, and I have her on the lookout for anything Chambers.

Lori and Lindaw, who knew you guys were jwhite and dream catcher. I feel like I should have known. I will keep in mind the next time I bid on anything Chambers. I don't want to artificially increase the price of these things. Just so you guys know, I am looking at the T-well cover that appeared on ebay and will be bidding. Let me know if you are interested and I will back away. My Wife says I've spent too much on this thing already. Just wait til her reaction after I purchase the parts for the safety system.
